Originally Published In French 1822 And 1833, This Being Newly Translated By The Woolfs From The Second French Edition With A Few Later Prefaces By Stendhal, The American Issue (1916) Of The 1916 British Issue And With Sheets Printed In Great Britain. Early But Not First Printing, Without Date On Title Page. A Clean, Tight And Solid Copy, No Marks Or Damage. Worn, Fading To Spine Cloth But Spine Gilt Bright, Fraying Along Top And Bottom Edges Of Spine, 1/2" Long Strip On Bottom Edge Of Rear Board, And Tiny Frays At Tips.
