About This Item
Norwalk, Connecticut: The Easton Press,, 2002. First Easton Press edition, signed by Margaret Thatcher as issued. Dedicated to Ronald Reagan, Statecraft was Thatcher's final book, providing her analysis of foreign policy in the post-Cold War world. The Easton Press edition, a handsome publication for the collector market, was published the same year as the unsigned trade edition issued by Harper Collins. Whereas there were multiple signed editions of Thatcher's other books, this was the only signed edition of Statecraft. Even in the regular trade edition, it is the most difficult of her books to acquire signed, as she was then in failing health and signed far fewer copies than of her previous works. Loosely inserted is the publisher's printed certificate of authenticity, dated 4 March 2008. Octavo. Original blue bonded leather, spine lettered in gilt, covers panelled in gilt, pink silk endpapers, gilt edges, yellow silk bookmarker. A fine copy.
