Publisher's original quarter black cloth with titles in metallic blue to the spine, blue boards illustrated in metallic blue to the upper board, in the black card slipcase with pictorial onlay to the side. All edges metallic blue. With a frontispiece and six further illustrations in colour, two of which are double page. A fine copy, the binding square, tight, bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the fine original slipcase. First published in the UK in 1960 by New English Library, this newly illustrated edition follows the text of the British first edition, with minor emendations. Synopsis

Starship Troopers is a military science fiction novel by Robert A. Heinlein, first published (in abridged form) as a serial in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction (October, November 1959, as "Starship Soldier") and published hardcover in December, 1959. The first-person narrative is about a young soldier named Juan "Johnnie" Rico and his exploits in the Mobile Infantry, a futuristic military unit equipped with powered armor.
