The author was an important sociologist noted for his Progressive as well as nativist beliefs who parted ways with Stanford over his anti-Asian and anti-industrial statements; he found his way to Wisconsin where he taught sociology for decades. Stated first printing. Hardcover, full dark brown cloth, gilt titling; in jacket, as pictured. Light wear, corners a bit bumped; jacket shows some edgewear, scuffs, chipping, a little darkening to spine. Text clean; xiv, 368 pages; index, figures, charts, graphs.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 5½" by 8¼".
