Faber and Faber, 1939. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1939. First Edition. 343 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with gilt titles to spine. Preface By Norman Birkett. Includes photographic plates. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Plates are clean with minor thumbing and foxing. Pencil inscriptions to front endpaper. Hinges are cracked with exposed netting, especially rear hinge where text block almost separated from boards despite tape repairs. Liquid droplet marks to upper text block edge. Boards have some moderate edge wear, with slight bumping and fraying to corners and minor bumping to spine ends. Small water stain to front, with a paint spot. Boards a little rubbed and marked overall. Gilt is bright.
