About This Item

Ludwig Voggenreither Verlag, Potsdam // Kurt Vowinckel Verlag, Heidelberg, Berlin, 1939. Special Edition. Hardcover. Good/Fair. signed. Signed by Author(s)A two book bundle. The bundle is EXTREMELY RARE as the first title is a presentation copy to HEINRICH HIMMLER who has INITIALED the presentation page in green pencil. The second title is SIGNED BY HEINRICH HIMMLER and dated, 14.I.41 in green pencil. Both signatures are VERIFIED. The first volume, "Stadt der Arbeit" is also signed by ERICH STOLLEIT, the Oberburgermeister of Ludwigshafen (for a comparitively short period but during which he efficiently oversaw the Gauleiter command to cleanse the city of its Jews). Stolleit was a controversial figure both within the Nazi Party (party number: 519227) as he ostentatiously distanced himself from the SA as soon as he learned of their anti-Semitic excesses on Kristallnacht. He was later captured in North Africa and saw out the war in a POW camp in Victoria, Australia. " Board cover that is worn and scuffed but solid. Leather spine. Binding is tight and sure. The pages are very clean, fresh, firm against the binding. The papertrims have some evidence of handling and shelving. The second book is also in good condition. The paper dustjacket is covered with a clear cellophane protective cover. It has some light wear to the edges, corners and head and foot of the spine. It is whole, healthy and intact. The cloth cover is smart. It has little wear. The corners have shelf depressions. The binding is sure, secure and firm. HEINRICH HIMMLER signed and DATED the frontispage. The impression of this signature (in green pencil) has an impression on the following page. It is tanned but clear. The guttering along this page is weakened. The security of the book has not been compromised. There is light tanning throughout the book. The pages are clear, clean, very sure against the spine, assured and very confident. INCLUDED: an SS collar flash/ insignia: silver thread on black; the reverse thread is intact, slight loose at the wing tips. Also a sleeve flash/ insignia of WVD Brussel: gold thread on black: the reverse thread is very good, fresh and bright. Both are in excellent condition. To repeat it is VERY RARE that HIMMLER's signature is up for sale and EVEN MORE RARE to find books from his LIBRARY, personally marked, on the market. All four items [two books, two insignia] are part of this package. Excellent value for any collector. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
