About This Item
London: William Heinemann Ltd., 1973. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. This is the last book in the "World's End" series. The interior is crisp and clean, with no marks or wear. The blue covers are fresh, with just a touch of wear to edges and corners. The gilt spine lettering is still bright. The dust jacket is price-clipped, but is otherwise in very good condition, with minor wear at edges. The jacket is now in a protective plastic cover and looks very attractive. Synopsis: "World's End -- the derelict inn that has come to mean home to the four young Fieldings and their numerous animals -- is threatened with destruction. The Fieldings are determined to fill the old red flour crock with enough money to save it, but there are so many other things to do, and there are so many equally good causes, that they neer seem to get very far. There are always new animals to care for; an old circus horse needs rescuing; Carrie and Lester choose to help clean up birds damaged by an oil slick rather than earn money in a snack bar. And in the end, it is their friendship with a young blind music teacher and his guide dog that, in a strange and dramatic way, brings World's End safely into the hands of the Fieldings for ever".
