Illustrated throughout with b/w photographs/illustrations, full page, multi-photos to a page and double page pictures, etc. Produced during the First World War. This issue is mainly concerned with 'The War in Europe'. Articles include : - 'Raiding period on the Western Front'. ' The Fighting on the Ancre'; 'The Kite Balloon as a Naval Look-out'; 'War in the Snow. The Italian Campaign in the Alps'. ; 'A Review of the Trentino Campaign of 1916'. A Double page b/w illustration of ' Storming a German Trench with Bomb and Bayonet: An Episode on the Western Front' - Drawn by Christopher Clark. ; 'With the British Armoured Cars in the Cauasus'. Plus a Full page 'Roll of Honour' - with small individual photographs - for Officers killed whilst serving; and 'The Great European War Week by Week'. Also a few minor articles on other topics including : - 'Women's Sphere in Wartime', 'In the Petrol World', etc. Quite a few b/w adverts in the magazine, many with war-related themes, many not. Rear cover has a lovely full page pictorial The Greys Cigarette Advert in blues/pinks/oranges. The Front cover has an oblong vignette picture of the Italian Artillery column - see image - plus Adverts, decorated border, etc, all in blues/oranges. The covers are a little edge torn - no loss. Internally VG. Overall VG minus. A fascinating period magazine and very topical given the current release of the film 1917.
