Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a F/O name note of a 1955 stay in Fairbanks, AK and book seller stamp on RFFP for Fairbanks. Book Condition: Very Good +; slight shelfwear to head, tail, and tips; light bumping to tips. DJ: Very Good; NOT Price Clipped ($2.00); chipping and missing small pieces at head and tail; light suntoning to spine; light wear to tips. Tan cloth boards and spine with dark brown lettering on the spine and front board. 126 pp 12mo. This book is well known for its verses about the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon a decade earlier, particularly the long, humorous ballads, "The Shooting of Dan McGrew" and "The Cremation of Sam McGee." His poems depicting not just the hard lives and isolation of Yukon prospectors but also the drinking, gambling, and prostitution that was prevalent in Dawson City. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
