About This Item
Leipzig: Bernhard Tauchnitz, 1910. Hardcover. 16mo. Quarter calf with gilt lettering and raised bands and marbled paper over boards. 262pp. Marbled endpapers, sewn-in green satin page marker. Very good overall. Tight and nice, with binding just a tad rubbed; text mildly, evenly age toned per usual. Handsome rebound example of Volume 4223 in Tauchnitz's "Collection of British Authors" series in attractive, likely early 20th century binding. First published as "Egypt and Its Monuments" in 1908, this was the only travel book from the pen of the remarkably prolific British novelist, critic, journalist, playwright and short story author (1864-1950).
