Copyright date 1908 by the Lincoln Centenary Society. Lincoln was born February 12, 1809. Three-quarter dark-red morocco leather binding with off-white cloth boards and gilt lettering and Art-Nouveau style floral decoration on the spine. Gilt-covered top edge. Marbled endpapers. xxiv + 417 pages. Untrimmed page edges. Frontispiece portrait of Lincoln protected with tissue and eight other b/w illustrations on glossy plates. Large and heavy book measuring 8 1/2" x 5 3/4" x 1 5/8" and weighing 2 pounds. In VERY GOOD condition. Top edge of spine chipped away with loss of lettering. Heavy wear to the leather joints and cracking to the inner hinges but still secure. Light surface wear to the spine but with gilt remaining very bright and unworn. Rubbed leather corner tips. Otherwise Fine. Bright and clean, tight and square, with no bumping or sunning. Nearly immaculate interior with bright, clean, flawless pages. No previous owner signature or bookplate..
