Np: Np, 1850. First edition. Hardcover. Contemporary three quarter dark olive morocco and cloth, front and back covers with gilt wreath design and lettered in gilt. Aeg. Very good. 25.5 x 22.5 cm. 8 page Index. Printed title page with a specimen of a moss wreath and initials apparently cut out and laid down, mostly likely taken from one of Flintoft's (James Flintoff) works. There are 175 specimens, many with more than one specimen, each captioned in ink and pencil. Also laid in, a three page hand written in ink commentary in the same hand pertaining to mosses with a mention of Sir Jackson Hooker. Raised bands, spine panels with gilt arabesque motifs.
