Brilliant Deeds of the U.S. Secret Service Officers, etc., etc. With Incidents of Mirth and Merriment in Camp and Field." The above quote from the Title Page does not cover it all: also recounts life in Confederate prisons and has numerous engravings by F.L. Fithian. First published by Potter in 1866 and reprinted by several publishers. This is a Near Fine copy in an attractive decorative binding. Brown cloth binding, stamped with camp scenes in black; titling in gilt. Clean text; 528 pages. All edges marbled. Light bumps and only hints of rub on the spine margins; else a Fine copy. . Later Printing. Decorative Cloth. Near Fine/No Jacket. Illus. by F.L. Fithian. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
