About This Item

NY: Orbit Books. Very Good+. 2009. Seventh Printing. Softcover; Mass Market PB. 373 pages. Faint spine creases and edgewear. A lovely copy of a fun book originally published in this mass market paperback format.; Werewolves, vampires, and a preternatural spinster that can negate supernatural powers in a comedy of manners set in a version of Victorian England that has dirigibles and lots of tea-drinking of course! The first volume in this entertaining series won an ALA ALEX award.; 'Alexia Tarabotti is laboring under a great many social tribulations. First, she has no soul. Second, she's a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette.
Where to go from there? From bad to worse apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire -- and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate.' Image is actual copy on offer. .

Gail Carriger's Soulless swept the steampunk world off its feet, but could a manga version elicit the same response? The answer is a resounding yes. Artist REM brings all the characters Carriger's fans have come to love to life. The beautifully drawn Victorian settings and character expressions add depth to the story. This version will easily become a reader favorite.
