Collates A4, (a)4, B - Y4. Folded woodcut plate and two folded typeset formation plans. MId-20th century half calf with marbled boards. The spine slightly faded, gilt between raised bands. Marbled boards and endpapers. All edges gilt. There is a single pinhole of worm through much of the book which occasionally affects a letter of text near the foot of the page. From signature T onwards there is is an increase in the worm damage, some of it marginal. Armorial bookplate of Thomas Francis Fremantle. The three parts are 1) The Souldiers Accidence 2) The Souldiers Grammar 3) The Second Part of the Souldiers Grammar. Each part has its own dated title page but the register is continuous. The jumps in pagination correspond to the different parts. ESTC R25022 with 3 UK and 3 USA locations. Poynter 39.2. The publishing history of individual parts is typically Markhamesque.They appeared in various guises from 1619 onwards and all issues are uncommon both in libraries and in trade.
