About This Item
New York, New York: Murray Hill Books, Inc., 1946. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good Minus. The "soul" of lodestone is that property which causes it to attract other lodestone or iron. We call this property Magnetism; and this book is a history of man's thoughts concerning it and of the uses to which he has put it-in, for example the compass, as an agent in healing and as a means of understanding some of the secrets of the planets. Volume itself has green cloth covers with gold lettering on the spine; the work has edgewear at the top and bottom of the covers. Dust jacket is protected in an archival quality cover. Some chipping and small tears at the top of the spine and at the top of the back cover, to a much lesser extent the base of the spine. Deckled page edges. 231 pages. Book is clean and tight and in remarkable shape, given its age.
