About This Item
(Arnhem), printed by G.J. Van Amerongen at Amersfoort for (Hijman, Stenfert Kroese & Van de Zande, Boekverkopers), 1923, large 8vo, pp. 63 (1 and 4 blanco); in blue-grey (very thin and fragile) Ingres-like paper wrappers. The poems seen through the press by Jan Van Krimpen. - Limited edition of 150 uniform copies on Holland Pannekoek paper watermarked 'Palladium'. Striking typography by Van Krimpen, the title drawn with initials in red, and the Palladium imprint at the cover designed by him as well. The type used was the 18th century English Caslon. - A few very mild foxing spots at a few pages, hardly obtrusive. Like near always the fragile cover with some imperfections: light staining here and there; the spine defective with splitting at the edge (see pictures), but complete. Extra note: since years, due to the fragility of the cover and the scarcity of copies, potential collectors of the book have been advised to accept to a degree these imperfections, and to rather concentrate to the beautiful typography inside.
