About This Item

First Edition. softcover. Very good-. Stories about slavery in South Carolina and the songs that were brought over from Africa and blended into Christianity. Gullah is really a language from a mixture of African Bantu dialects that came to life in the Carolina low country rice fields. The book has an eighth inch nick on the back top corner, shelf wear all around and the previous owners name on the front cover. In addition there is foxing on the edges. The corners are square and the pages are clean and intact.

About mark mcdonald

Book collector for over 30 years. I'm retired and ready to sell. I buy almost exclusively from estate sales and since I've lived in Dallas my whole life, I know the people and where to go. I am a low volume collector and seller and deal in higher quality books. I have a lot of signed and inscribed books. These signatures have not been officially authenticated, but I am confident in their authenticity so I will guarantee them in perpetuity if it can be reasonably demonstrated that the signature is incorrect. .
