The second Arkham House publication. 300 copies printed by Hunter Publishing Co., in 1965. Headbands present as the first printing had no headbands. An interesting history of this rare second printing can by found in Shedlon Jaffrey's THE ARKHAM HOUSE COMPANION, pages 2 through 4. Referenced in Currey; SCIENCE FICTION AND FANTASY AUTHORS page 150. Collects preface plus sixteen of Derleth,s stories. Joshi; Sixty Years of Arkham House, #2. Only the merest hint of toning to the edges of the text block, else fine in fine dust jacket with light toning to the spine panel and a closed quarter inch tear to the front panel. A superior copy.
Synopsis
Someone in the Dark is a collection of fantasy and horror short stories by author August Derleth. It was released in 1941 and was the second book published by Arkham House. 1,115 copies were printed. An additional 300 copies were printed by Hunter Publishing Co. in Winston-Salem, NC in 1965.
