About This Item
New York, NY Cambridge University Press, 1995. Hardcover First Ed, so stated. First Ed, so stated. Very Near Fine in Near Fine DJ: Both book and DJ show only minute indications of use. Book shows no discernible wear, but the binding shows the slightest lean, while remaining perfectly secure; text clean. Some glue has bled through to discolor the hinge at the front and rear pastedown endpapers. DJ shows mild rubbing; a tiny, closed tear at the top of the front panel; just a hint of wear to the extremities; unclipped; mylar-protected. Overall, very close to 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. 270pp. (Cambridge Studies in Comparative Politics). Hardback with DJ. This book presents empirical research on the nature and structure of political violence. While most studies of social movements focus on single-nation studies, Donatella della Porta uses a comparative research design to analyze movements in two countries--Italy and Germany--from the 1960s to the 1990s. Through extensive use of official documents and in-depth interviews, della Porta is able to explain the actors' construction of external political reality, and to build a theory on political violence that synthesizes the various interactions among political actors.
