New York, : Dial Press,, 1980. . [First Printing]. Joan Vinge was only the 4th woman to win the Hugo Award for best Novel, which she won in 1981, for THE SNOW QUEEN. Offered, is the author's signed, 662 holograph page manuscript of that Hugo Award winning novel, which was originally entitled, CARBUNCLE, then changed during its evolution. Also included is a holograph, signed cover letter, and a xerox copy drawing of the heroine, by the author. The pages include notes, thoughts, drawings, whimsey, and much material not included in the final draft.
