Overall, a sturdy copy, with striking illustrations. The Snow Queen is one of Hans Christian Andersen's longest and most beloved stories. In it, two children, Kai and Gerda, are separated when Kai is taken away in a sleigh by the cold-hearted Snow Queen. Gerda travels far and wide to find her friend, encountering a sorceress, a raven, a reindeer, and other intriguing characters along the way. The Snow Queen was the inspiration for the animated Disney sensation, Frozen (2013), which won Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song ("Let it Go").
