Color Illustrations; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 1941 Oxford University Press Smaller square format HC/DJ. 1st edition. Soundly bound copy in original pictorial dust jacket with publisher's $1.00 issue price and 40-80 code intact to unclipped front flap. Green cloth with paper title label to cover board. Usual offset toning to the pictorial pastedowns; prior owner name and 1941 Christmas penned to the front pastedown. Jacket a little toned at spine and to sides with several damp/drip outlines to the cover panel. Light surface rubbing to jacket base of spine and shallow chips at spine ends and corner tips. Mild reader evidence to pages but clean and unmarked save for a few small instances of soling to the front and rear endpages. Despite flaws a sound and attractive copy in the original dust jacket. VG/G++ .
