Smooth-Talking Cowboy is the first book in the Golden Valley series by American author, Maisey Yates. Olivia Logan has broken off with her boyfriend, Bennett Dodge because he refuses to set a date. But she wants him back, so his friend Luke Hollister suggests Olivia pretend to have a relationship with him, to make Bennett jealous. And that sort of works, except that when Luke kisses her, the fireworks make her wonder if she what she feels for Bennett was ever real. Luke has wanted Olivia for years, but when she grew up, she became Bennett's girl. Now he has the chance to kiss her, will he be able to hold back? The characters are OK and the story is sexy and sweet if predictable, but some editing to trim the excessive descriptions and repetition would make this a better read.
