Reviews

On Mar 13 2020, a reader said:
First published more than 60 years ago as "The Lone Gunhawk" Smoky Road is the tale of a lone gunfighter who fights his way through a bloody range war. Single handed, Jim Ralls fought against an empire run by Harley Langford. But there was a cattle empire at stake, and a man's death to avenge. There was also Langford's impetuous and beautiful daughter, Sage, to consider. In to this world created by the master of pulp fiction, Frank Gruber, takes you there in a way that makes it seem you are there with the action. Mr. Gruber was the author and screen writer of dozens of movies--western and mystery/crime--during the 1940's and 1950's so he has the ability to put you right in the action. This novel is definitely one of those.
