About This Item
London: Hodder and Stoughton,, 1980. Rare pre-publication proof of the concluding novel of the Karla trilogy, following Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (1974) and The Honourable Schoolboy (1977). The book was evidently made by photomechanically copying a version of the text that had been edited by hand; these manuscript edits, largely formatting notes and textual corrections, are reproduced throughout. Octavo. Original white wrappers, front wrapper lettered in black. With dust jacket. Spine slightly creased, a few spots on wrappers; jacket a little rubbed with creases to spine ends, unclipped: a near-fine copy in like jacket.
