The author's best weird novel. ''Chambers' last important work of supernatural fiction: an adventure novel of Oriental menace whose roots are clearly in 'The Maker of Moons''' (Bleiler, Supernatural Fiction Writers: Fantasy and Horror, p. 744). Page edges a little browned, small bookstore sticker on rear pastedown, a near fine copy in a VG+ pictorial dustjacket with wear along the top edges.
