Octavo, pp. [1-4] [i-vi] vii [viii-x] 13-301 [302: blank] [note: text complete despite gap in pagination; first leaf is a blank preceding half title leaf], original decorated red cloth, front and spine panels stamped in black. The author's best weird novel. ''Chambers' last important work of supernatural fiction: an adventure novel of Oriental menace whose roots are clearly in 'The Maker of Moons''' (Bleiler, Supernatural Fiction Writers: Fantasy and Horror, p. 744). Page edges a little browned, small bookstore sticker on rear pastedown, a near fine copy in a VG+ pictorial dustjacket with wear along the top edges.
