About This Item
Simon & Schuster, New York - 1995 hardcover, 6" x 8¾", with dust jacket Ours is an ex-library copy in transparent protective covering, with usual stamps, stickers, etc. VERY GOOD book in VERY GOOD unclipped dust jacket Bosnians had great expectations of the post-Communist era in Eastern Europe. Theirs was already a consumer culture, fueled by tourism. But when the Yugoslavian state began to collapse, Bosnia fell with it. In 1991, war broke out in Croatia, and later, Bosnia. As the world stood by, for the third time in twentieth-century Europe a small minority, the Muslims of Bosnia, underwent a genocide. David Rieff went to Sarajevo and reported the failure of the West, and the U.N., to stop the war.
