About This Item
Hodder & Stoughton. First edition published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1951. A very good copy. The striking Leslie Wood designed dust wrapper has three mended tears, one to the bottom of the front panel and two to the top corners. All three have been mended to the reverse of the jacket with archival tape. The wrapper is in complete condition and is not price clipped displaying 9/6 net on the inside flap. The publishers original maroon cloth boards are in nice condition. It is a tight and square copy, unmarked by ink. There is light flecking to the text block and some browning to the first couple of pages. Overall a very good copy. A respectable copy of this very rare espionage / murder mystery novel. It is the first one of five penned pseudonymously by Eric Ambler and Charles Rodda. It has become rare to find Eliot Reed novels of late, and in particular the early ones including this one. . Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1951.
