There is a stamp to the end paper about 2.5" in diameter which states: "Victoria League Overseas Library London S.W.1", no other markings, spine darkened along with some darkening of cover edges, light soiling to covers, pages clean, Good only used copy includes the errata slip; no dust jacket. Light blue gray cloth with pictorial of skier in black with a slope of snow in white, vii, 238pp, then [2]pp useful facts and figures, then monochrome plates of skiing through the woods, then xvi of ads relating to skiing wear and equipment, frontis, 20 monochrome photo plates, 75 figures and photos in text; small photos in text. . Contents: History, Outfit: the ski, the binding,footplates, sticks, sealskin, wax, scraper, repair kit, boots and socks, rucksack, gloves, headgear, goggles; Running and Turning; Jumping; A Course of Practice for Beginners; Concerning snow; Avalanches; Some skiing countries. This is early important work on skiing by one of the founding members of the Davos English Ski Club, one of the earliest British ski clubs. and one of the leading authorities of the sport.
