Endpaper with photomontage. Designed by Willi Vogt with photographs by Uhlenhuth, Theisen (Schweinfurt) and Weizsäcker, Petershans (Stuttgart). Addressing the company employees and friends of the ball bearing manufacturer SKF in Schweinfurt, this publication documents the destruction caused by W.W.II. and the rebuilding efforts as they pertains to the city and in particular the SKF factory. 70% of the city of Schweinfurt and the factories were destroyed in fifteen air raids starting on August 17, 1943. Next to the numerous sepia-toned photographs documenting the overwhelming destruction, plans showing the progress of the rebuilding of the ball bearing factory in various architectural drawings, including photo-illustrated diagrams reflection the changes in the factory staff from 1945 to 1952. Includes data and photographs of the branch of the company in Cannstatt as well as construction of housing for the workers. Text in German. Wraps with very light wear along edges. Inside covers slightly age-toned. Wraps and interior in overall very good condition.
