About This Item
Sketches of Western Adventure of the Most Interesting Incidents Connected with the Settlement of the West, from 1755 to 1794. With an Appendix. Revised and Corrected, with Engravings.
Exciting, thrilling adventures of Indian skirmishes, war parties, and often dramatic and tragic events in the settlement of the West. Recounted stories of Daniel Boone and military men, as well as settlers trying to carve their settlements out of an often brutal and dangerous land. Appendix which was added to this 1837 edition (originally published in 1832) adds significantly to the understanding of the Indian culture and peace negotiations and treaties as well as war expeditions (not included in the 1832 edition). Descriptions often detailed and graphic.
