Philadelphia: George W. Childs, 1862. First Edition . Hardcover. Good only in original green cloth, with "Parson Brownlow's Book" printed in gilt on the backstrip. No dust jacket. Front hinge has separation at the title page; front board of book appears to be taped to the text block. However, book is readable as is and rear hinge is tight. 8 pages of publisher's ads at rear. Some pendil markings to yellow endpapers; owner's stamp on second front endpaper. Includes a few illustrations; 458 pages plus ads at rear.
