About This Item
London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1999. First edition, first printing. Published by Hodder and Stoughton in London, 1999. This is a near fine copy. The Fletcher Sibthorp dust wrapper has some general shelf wear to the top and tail edges throughout. It has not been price clipped. There is a mild stain to the side text block, though they are free from foxing. The boards are free from notable chips and marks. The author's signature is inscrbed to 'Alex and Eileen', twice signed and dated in black ink. Overall, this is a near fine copy. The Whitbread Children's Book of the Year, also winning the Carnegie Medal from the Library Association, recognising the year's outstanding children's book by a British author.
