Unclipped yellow matte dust jacket with purple and black lettering. Minor wear to the extremities, light age-toning. Spine has been previously taped. Has mylar covering.Spotting to page ends, inner boards, endpages, and title page. Inside of front board is signed by previous owner and dated "1956" in ink. Title pages is signed by author in ink. Lightly toned pages are clean and unmarked. Binding is tight and textblock is square. "In story after story Miss Gordimer reveals a penetrating insight that illuminates the general as well as the particular.". Signed by Author. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good +. Octavo.

The Chatham Bookseller began in 1968, and, in 1970, opened a store at its present location in Madison, NJ. The store contains over 10,000 books in over 80 different subjects, and favors good used books and good literature (both hardcover and paperback) over popular books and bestsellers. Our Internet business began in 2001. Upon visiting the store, we can show and sell individual online titles upon request. Store hours are 10:00-5:30 (Tues.-Sat.) and 11:00-4:00 (Sun.). The business is run by Richard Chalfin.
