London: Cassell, 1961. Reprint. Hardcover. Very good+/very good. Green cloth boards in dust jacket, octavo, frontispiece in b&w, otherwise not illustrated. Book has mild wear and toning to edges of boards and spine, binding tight, foxing to endpapers, text clean and unmarked but toned throughout. DJ has edgewear that includes some tears, two of which have been taped shut, toning and rubbing.
Synopsis
Sir Walter Scott, 1st Baronet (15 August 1771 – 21 September 1832) was a prolific Scottish historical novelist and poet, popular throughout Europe during his time. Scott has been said to be particularly associated with Toryism, though several passages in Tales of a Grandfather display a liberal, progressive and Unionist outlook on Scotland's history.
