About This Item

Caldwell, ID: The Caxton Printers. Good with no dust jacket. 1950. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. First Edition (1950) ; First Printing with same date at the title and copyright pages, in accordance with Caxton's customary practice. No subsequent printings listed. Good: Shows moderate shelf-rubbing to the bottom edge of the powder-blue cloth over boards: the front board is bowed due to exposure to moisture; dampstaining to the bottom edge of the text pages, causing a faint 'crinkliness' to the pages along the bottom edge; mild rubbing to the panels and backstrip; the expected faint tanning to the text pages due to aging; the binding remains secure; the text is clean. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A flawed, but carefully-used copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing moderate wear and the noted flaws. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. (9.25 x 6.25 x 1.35 inches) . Liberally illustrated with vintage duotone photographs, maps, etc. Language: English. Weight: 27 ounces. Powder blue cloth over boards with silver titles at the front panel and backstrip. Hand-drawn maps at the endpapers. Hardback: Lacks DJ. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 322 pages .
