When the chauffer of Sir Gerald Tarrant, head of a secret service department in the British Government, stops on a narrow road on the edge of the gorge of the Tarn River in France to help two nuns change a their tire, Sir Gerald is taken prisoner by the nuns, no less. A hasty rescue mission is set up, led by Modesty. Written by Peter O'Donnell, an English writer of mysteries and of comic strips, best known as the creator of Modesty Blaise. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with minor sunning to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound.
