London: J.M. Dent & Sons, 1934. First Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Dust Jacket. Rex Whistler. Signed. A Good copy in edge-worn black cloth lettered in gold of the Dent/London 1934 true first edition. Tanning/foxing at the outer edges and endpapers. No dust jacket. Briefly inscribed and signed by the author at the front endpaper ("Elizabeth Rood Hawes/With affection/Connie Wright"). Accompanying the signed first edition will be a Good copy of the Dutton/New York 1935 1st U.S. edition, Good in purple cloth in an edge-worn Poor dust jacket lacking most of the spine panel. The U.S. edition is not signed.
