Hardback small octavo, no jacket, good condition, orange boards, black border front cover, black title spine, endpapers & title page lightly foxed, light toning pages, light foxing pages, spine ends little worn, boards little rubbed (mainly bottom edge), cover corners little bumped, cancelled EX-LIBRARY (rubber stamps inside covers), front & inner hinge slightly split (pages firm). 310 pp. Fifth edition. This mystery thriller is set in Britain. One of the main characters is Doctor Chan-Fu, of the Red House, Barnes. Based on the famous play by John Brandon and George Picket. Written by Australian author born in 1879, and moved to England after 1923. He died in 1941. He wrote over 120 crime novels. (Originally published, 1928. This is the 5th edition, actually 5th printing, 1934.).
