Signed Phillip II manuscript document dated October 2, 1576. Counter signed by King's secretary, Antonio de Erasso. Spanish text throughout. Letter adhered to another sheet of paper; left edge of backing paper is folded over the left edge covering a small amount of text. Evidence of previous worming and discoloration to left edge not effecting text of the letter. Framed in red wood with gilt, floating between two panes of glass. Frame: 15 x 17 1/4 inches; Letter: 8 1/2 x 12 1/4 inches.
