London: Secker and Warburg, 1969. A first edition, first printing published by Secker and Warburg in 1969. A little tanning to exterior of text block, little bumping at head & food of spine, couple of small marks at bottom of front board & spine, clean & unmarked other than author's inscription.The dust wrapper has minor shelfwear at edges, light stain to top of front inside flap; signed and inscribed, on front free endpaper ('To Joyce/on the occasion/of this, our last (?)/F & C (?) meeting/together, Yours/Gordon/May 76'). Joyce Marlow was a fellow author, with whom Gordon Williams had an affair in the 70s. The book was the basis for the Sam Peckinpar.
