London: James R. Osgood, McIlvaine & Co, 1891. Hardcover. Very Good. 2 volumes. 8vo. 409; 575. First British edition, from the US sheets. Original mustard coloured cloth with heraldic device and design to front boards, in blue black and and gold, the spines with gilt lettering and the top edges gilt. Very light rubbing to the board corners, spine ends bumped, spine of vol. 2 with a vertical crease in the cloth. Light foxing to the endpapers, but not throughout, very clean, and the bindings tight and square. With black and white illustrations, portraits, and maps.
