Text clean and unmarked except for a prior owner attribution and date on the front free endpaper. Illustrated with photographic scenes from the Universal Pictures silent film starring Laura La Plante & Joseph Schildkraut. Show Boat went on to become two Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II musicals: first starring Irene Dunne and the second with Ava Gardner.
Synopsis
Edna Ferber was an American novelist, short story writer and playwright. Her bestselling novels were especially popular and included the Pulitzer Prize-winning So Big , Show Boat , Giant , and Cimarron . She died in 1968.
