About This Item

Revised and enlarged reprint of the Second Appendix to the author's - The Book Collector's Vade Mecum.

8vo., [4], 67, [1] pages.

Cloth covered boards with gilt-titling to spine and gilt motif to top board. Binding a little rubbed, spine faded, with a small mark on the top of the upper board. A few spots of minor foxing to a number of pages including the title-page. Text clean and unmarked. Previous booksellers' pencil notations to front free end-paper.

Commences with a short note on the International Association of Antiquarian Booksellers, followed by brief histories of 58 booksellers and book-auctioneers, finishing with a note of the Antiquarian Book Trade Journal 'The Clique'. Whilst the notes on different booksellers and book-auctioneers are short they contain details with regard to their specialities where existing, their high-points. The text also includes a few first-hand contributions from individual booksellers.
