George G Harrap & Co., 1929. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1929. First Edition. 283 pages. No dust jacket. Brown cloth. Black and white photographic plates throughout with colour illustrated frontispiece. Translated by Joan Joshua. Some cracking to gutters causing binding to be loose, however pages remain attached. Pages and plates have light tanning and foxing throughout. Pencil inscription to half-title page. Heavy creasing and slight edge tears to pp. 83-92 and one plate, but text remains clear. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Mild marking and bubbling to front board. Boards are slightly bowed.
