Bound in original maroon cloth w/ gilt decoration and title lettering, paper spine label. Vg condition. Ex-library copy w/ 3 stamps on front endpaper, partial stamp on fore-edge (barely visible), rear pocket neatly removed. Contents lightly & uniformly age-toned, otherwise clean, no foxing or brittle to pgs, binding & hinges firm. Slightest bit of fraying at spine ends & lower board corners, browning & small edge-chipping to paper spine label; outer gilt remains quite sharp & bright. 70 p. Reprinted from the original edition of 1831 in the library of the Wisconsin State Historical Society, with new Introduction. Contains facsimile of original title page: "A short biography of John Leeth, giving a brief account of his travels and sufferings among the Indians for eighteen years. Together with his religious exercises, from his own relation, by Ewel Jeffries. Lancaster, Ohio. Printed at the Gazette office, Main St. 1831."
