There is a small remainder mark on the bottom of the text block. The illustrated covers are fresh, with just a touch of wear at tips and corners. The dust jacket is not price-clipped, and is also in excellent condition, with no wear or damage. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: "Jem, the shoemaker's son, works hard at learning his father's trade. When Jem's mother falls ill, his father sets out on a pilgrimage to the Holy City of St. James, leaving Jem in charge of the shop. Jem knows he's not good enought to take his father's place. How will he manage? Then one night, he is beset by strange visitors clamoring for the three silver keys. Jem knows nothing about the keys, but before the night is out, he is guarding them and must make a desperate choice between the powers of good and evil.
