Barry is a well-known historian of the Great Lakes, and he covers the history of ships and shipping on the Great Lakes from the earliest days to the present. Nicely illustrated with end paper maps and "228 historic drawings and photographs." Contains an index and a bibliography in the rear. Original gray cloth publisher's covers with maroon spine and cover lettering. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. The dust jacket is sunned at the spine and has wer to the top edge and a couple of old book shop stickers on the upper rear panel, else it is serviceable and has nor writing or markings.; B&W Photos & Illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 256 pages .
