Slight stain last two pages of ads after the story ends. Author, title on front cover. Spine, which is tight, has title, author and publisher in white and yellow ink. Text unmarked. Rear bottom left edge missing small amount of color. Very light wear around top of spine and bottom. Corners show light wear.. Bottom page edges show pattern of different color. Perhaps a water stain Inside cover and title page are faded. Pages are age toned. Front cover has been opened. A good story and I enjoyed reading it in a different book.
Synopsis
JOSEPHINE TEY is one of the best-known and best-loved of all crime writers. She began to write full-time after the successful publication of her first novel, The Man in the Queue , which introduced Inspector Grant of Scotland Yard. In 1937 she returned to crime writing with A Shilling for Candles , but it wasn't until after theSecond World War that the majority of her crime novels were published. Josephine Tey died in 1952, leaving her entire estate to the National Trust. From the Paperback edition.
